What is the process? To apply for a place on a course, please contact us to tell us which course, and how many places. We will send you an application form. You will need to confirm your place by sending us one completed application form and a non-refundable £10 deposit per person. The deposit will be deducted from the course fee.

Why have we introduced a new process? The new system protects you in two ways

·         Safety and quality.  Our courses have become oversubscribed.  This system will ensure we know exactly who is coming to each course – we will be able to maintain the safety, and the quality, of each course by ensuring we keep the numbers to 12 places

·         Sending us a signed application form and £10 deposit allows us to set up your Social Membership of the British Fencing Association.  This means you will be insured from the moment you set foot in the club – rather than doing the paperwork when you arrive, and not being insured until later.

What do I pay and when? You will need to send a non-refundable £10 deposit to confirm your place on the course.  The balance of the course fee is payable on the first night.

Why is the fee non-refundable?When we receive the deposit, we use it to enroll you as a Social Member in the British Fencing Association, which currently costs £10.

Why do I need Social Membership of the BFA? Although none of our beginners has ever had an accident, this is for your protection.  It insures you against 3rd party claims in the unlikely event of an accident. Full details of the BFA and its membership options are at the BFA website here.

Can I organise Social Membership of the BFA myself? No - the BFA only allows social memberships to be registered via the club.  This is because social membership only covers fencing at one club, and this is their method of making sure that they know which club you are at.  However, in the unusual case that you already have some other kind of BFA membership, then contact us and we can tailor things around your circumstances.

Will I get a receipt? We can provide a written receipt on request; please let us know if you need one.
